Florida CAN Webinar: Supporting Florida's Undocumented Students

Florida College Access Network cordially invites you to attend a webinar to discuss the unique challenges facing Florida's undocumented students, the resources available to them, and how college access practitioners, advisors and educators can best support these students in their quest to achieve a postsecondary education.

According to a Florida CAN policy brief released earlier this week, nearly 2,500 undocumented students in Florida benefited from our state's tuition equity law during its first year of implementation.  Join Florida CAN's Associate Director for Research and Policy, Troy Miller, and the following experts to discuss how Florida can better recruit, receive and retain Florida's undocumented students in higher education:
  • Jose Diaz, Executive Director, FL Dream
  • Julio Calderon, Access to Higher Education Organizer, Florida Immigrant Coalition
  • Gaby Pacheco, Program Director, TheDream.US
  • Dr. Jeannett B Manzanero, Director, Dr. Kathryn W. Davis Global Education Center, Palm Beach State College
And don't forget, today is National Educators Coming Out Day!  The effort, coordinated by United We Dream, increases the visibility of educators, advisors and allies of undocumented students who are unafraid to support and work alongside them.  Click here to learn more!
