NACAC Recap
It was great to see so many friends
and colleagues during the NACAC conference last week. The Common
Application session was so popular that we were asked to repeat
it.
The feedback posed by
counselors who were present was thoughtful, collegial, and instructive.
Based on their comments, we are actively exploring how to
clarify processes surrounding print preview, fee waivers,
self-reported testing, and essay pasting.

Avoid College Names in Recommendations
When you use the Common App
Recommender System to submit a School Report or Teacher Evaluation on
behalf of a student, that form and the accompanying letter are sent
to all colleges to which the student submits a Common App. Since you
cannot retrieve a form once you click submit (it's like dropping it
in a mailbox), make sure you understand that anything you put in your
letter--including the name of a single institution--will be seen by
each and every college to which that student applies.
