Florida Named A Finalist in Race To The Top Phase 2 Competition
Florida has been named one of 19 finalists for the federal Race to the Top Phase 2 competition and could receive up to $700 million dollars in federal funds to implement locally developed comprehensive education reforms. A delegation led by Gov. Charlie Crist will head to Washington, D.C., on Aug. 11 to present the state’s proposal to federal officials.
