The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a tool for district administrators to use to evaluate school counselors. This will be the first evaluation tool co-created by district administrators and school counselors, rooted in the ASCA National Model, and emphasizes the nuanced and often difficult to evaluate best practice counseling skills and techniques school counselors use each day.
The survey is currently available on the ASCA community website and my state school counseling association website and is being sent out superintendents around my area. I’m hoping to include as many school counselor voices as possible so it can become a best practice tool.
