Montessori Foundation Event on Learning Differences- Speaker Dr. Joyce Pickering

Dr. Joyce S. Pickering-- Speech and Hearing Pathologist, and Learning Disabilities Specialist has devoted her life to addressing the needs of students with learning differences. She currently serves as Executive Director Emerita of Shelton School and Evaluation Center in Dallas, Texas, the world’s largest private school for children with learning differences. In addition, she has a 40-year career as a distinguished Montessorian.

On Sunday, November 9, 2014 Dr Pickering will be the closing keynote speaker at the Montessori Foundation’s Annual International conference in Sarasota, Florida. Because Dr Pickering is so well known in the field of special education we’ve decided to open this event to students, graduates and staff at local colleges and universities.

Dr. Pickering’s topic is, “An Overview of Learning Differences” and will conclude with a

question and answer session. A delicious buffet brunch will be served before the talk begins. The Hyatt Regency’s chef has custom crafted our menu (with many gluten free and vegetarian selections.). You will meet Montessori educators from around the world at this brunch as our event concludes following the keynote as well. Come early and visit the exhibits before they break down for the weekend.

Regular Cost: $75 per person (fee is for those not already attending the full conference event.)

Students of FSCA rate $50.
