As everyone gears up for another school year, we wanted to alert you to a number of tools ASCA has available for counselor educators.
Narrated Powerpoint for students: Help your students learn a bit about the school counseling profession and the resources ASCA has available for them. Download here.
Updated position statements: The 2013 Delegate Assembly updated the following position statements: Academic and Career Planning, Discipline, Gifted and Talented Student Programs, LGBTQ Youth, Safe Schools and Crisis Response, Students With Disabilities and Use of Student Support Staff in School Counseling Programs. Access these position statements and others here.
New book editions: This summer, ASCA released updated editions of "School Counseling Principles: Ethics and Law," "Making DATA Work" and a new publication, "School Counselor Leadership: An Essential Practice." Click on the links to learn more about these publications.
We'd also like your help with two projects. To stay on top of how school counseling education programs work, we ask that you complete this short survey.
And, please also check our list of colleges and universities offering school counseling degree programs. If your programs aren't properly listed here, e-mail Kathleen Rakestraw so we can update our listing.
Thanks for your help with our projects, and best wishes for another successful school year.
