FSCA Upcoming Webinar

Increasing Male Involvement and Engaging Families at Your School
Based on lessons learned from Family First’s twenty years of experience in the field of helping parents engage with their children and with their children’s schools, this webinar will include critical information on the importance of family engagement and the unique role that fathers play in securing a child’s success in school and in life. An overview of the All Pro Dad’s Day fatherhood engagement program will be presented, including information on how to start this simple program at your school. Participants will also be given access to practical parenting resources they can use and share with others.

2013 Convention:

Convention Program Proposal Deadline

July 15, 2013 is the deadline for submitting proposals for the 2013 convention. Click here to and submit yours today. Note: The poster session proposal form will be available to graduate students in mid-August. Poster sessions are only open to graduate students. The proposal form will be made available on the FSCA website, and an email will be sent to all FSCA graduate student members and all Florida School Counseling Program Directors once this form is available. Students submitting poster session proposals must commit to attending the FSCA convention from Oct. 31- Nov. 2.)

Note: Pre-convention attendance fees are not included in the convention registration. Each session is $35.

Florida College Access Network and the Florida School Counselor Association

A new report released today by the Florida College Access Network concludes that adopting the more rigorous K-12 education standards is only the first step needed to providing the support our students need to be successful after earning their high school diploma.  To achieve an increased level of college and career readiness, the rollout of Common Core must be matched by resources, supports and policies aligned with preparing students about the real-world fundamentals of selecting, planning and financing college and workforce training opportunities.
