General Principles for the Use of Pharmacological Agents To Treat Individuals With Co-Occurring Mental and Substance Use Disorders Offers general principles to assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of pharmacologic approaches to support the recovery of individuals with co-occurring disorders. This guideline covers engagement, screening, assessment, treatment planning, and continuity of care. Pharmacologic Guidelines for Treating Individuals With Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Co-Occurring Opioid Use Disorders Offers more specific guidance for effective treatments for individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder and co-occurring opioid use disorders. All principles and recommendations are strongly supported by research. This guide covers screening, concomitant treatment, pharmacotherapy, and multiple substances of abuse.
